I run a Windows application (NoteSmith) that has a print driver to create 'pdf' files instead of printing the report. It works fine under a vanilla Windows environment, but it doesn't work under Parallels Desktop 7. The program has a routine that installs a printer, which is the printer you select if you want to create a print file. The routine runs but does not install the printer. The printer should show up in the list of printers. I believe it is something similar to what Quicken has. In talking with NoteSmith Tech Support they were not able to help me. They are not familiar with the Parallels and we went through their typical Windows troubleshooting and couldn't find anything wrong. The guys said that it most likely is a permission issue in the Parallels environment that is blocking the NoteSmith program from installing the printer. Which is odd because I am the only one with access to the environment and am the Administrator. There are no other user profiles installed. Any ideas?
I just use CutePDF to create PDFs in Windows. It works and it's free. You just install it like a printer driver and select the CutePDF "printer" when you want to create a PDF. Steve
