    Hi,

I use parallels 4 latest on mac os 10.5.6. Installed win XP and it works fine so far when using my lan.

I have a T-mobile cell USB modem. I installed it on the mac OS and I have full access to internet.

I want to have XP access the internet via the mac connection, however the modem does not show up in parallels available network adaptors.

when i go to System Preference->Network i can in the left pane a HUAWEI Mobile with connected status.

How can I share it down to XP via parallels?

Mac OS Lion, MS OS XP, Parallels v7

I have two dongles for separate Internet suppliers. One was installed on the PC and one on the macbook.
Installing XP as the VM on the Mac was easy enough. In theory I had access to both dongles.

I spent a day trying to get the second Huawei modem dongle to be seen in XP. The dongle worked in Mac but just could not be seen by Windows. XP crashed constantly. All Mac and Parallels options and switches were ticked one way or the other. All to no effect as XP constantly crashed and Internet connection was impossible.

As the dongle had not been installed in XP I figured install it on the PC and then migrate again.

It was only when migrating and going through the options in Parallels / Virtual Machine / Configure that I saw there was a check box to isolate the mac software.

Leaving this unchecked allows windows to see hardware on the mac and thus the dongles. Internet access was restored. The second migration of XP was unnecessary.

In order to have XP access the internet via the mac connection you have to configure NAT or host only network. You can't get internet while use in Bridge mode.
