    Hello,

since two days it is not possible anymore to raise the RAM for for the Virtual Machine running Windows 7.
The advised range was limited to 1,5 MB, but it has been possible to raise it. I have already restarted the Mac, beause i read that sometimes it is not possible to raise the RAM, if it cannot be provided by the MAC-OS.

    Any solutions?

The VM needs to be completely shut down to change the amount of RAM for it.

Then change it in Virtual Machine menu -> Configure -> General

    Yes, that´s clear.

The problem is, that after MANUALLY upgrading the RAM, and restarting the Virtual Machine the RAM is downgraded AUTOMATICALLY by Parallels.

Maybe it´s a bug or a safety provision, because the MAC is not able to provide the RAM. Anyone?

How much free memory is available before launching the VM?

In case you provide your VM with more than 50 % of Ram (even 40% i suppose) your whole system (i mean Mac) would become unmanageable, incredibly slowly and you would be not able to operate with it. Just think it over - why do you need to increase RAM above the limit?
