I have let it run for an hour and stay at 0%. Any ideas? This is a legitimate purchased Win7 with proper key, etc. Parallels 7, also brand new, on new mac mini. THANKS

Your description sounds like the problem that I had trying to install Windows 7 under Parallels 6. I didn't have the patience to wait an hour, after 10-15 minutes I simply quit the installation and started over.

I've no idea why one time the installation would hang and the next time it would work. It's just magic, I guess.

Thank you. That was exactly the case. After waiting long enough it started to install. Hard to understand how this happens with machines operating at GHz clock speeds, but that was it.

How long is a reasonable amount of time?

How long should this step take before I try again?

You guys might want to try creating an ISO image of your Valid Windows installers if installing it from a DVD is giving you a hard time. Check out the easy steps in http://kb.parallels.com/en/4917 :)
