Hi I´m using an audio analyzer on my win xp. In parallels 3 without any problem. Now in v. 4 I got an audio delay of almost 2 sec. between I hear the sound and I can see it. Is it parallels or what can I do? Thanks Wolfgang
Try to run Parallels Desktop, after Mac OS restart, when no other program is running (shut down and start Mac OS, not restart), also make sure you have build 3810
No. I did a full install under BC with the newest drivers from BC and afterwards XP SP3. After that I installed Parallels Desktop.
Ok, please create ticket in support http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/request/ do not forget to submit report ID in subject, after sending report from Help - Report a Problem,
Parallels Desktop 5.0 for MAC Hi, I downloaded the latest trial and experienced the same audio delay issue. I would like to use parallels to run a Win7 audio editor application on my Mac. Unfortunately it is useless Regards, Vladimir Tanov
Hi Vladimir Don´t expect any help from parallels. They know that bug very well but are not willing to solve it.
...very unfortunate, but that statement seems to be true. Came back to test latest 7.x release - still that dreaded audio bug. running on MBP 13" (Mid 2009), Lion 10.7.2, Win 7 Home Premium as guest. Audio lag occurs in several games and applications, e.g. about 1 sec late in Mount & Blade Warband, and severe lags in Audio apps like NeuroProgrammer and MindWorkstation as well. Sorry - but nicer looks and slightly better graphics performance do not make up for unusable audio. Back to Fusion.
Dear WaldWord, Have you try the following article to troubleshoot your sound problem? http://kb.parallels.com/en/112477 We suggest to check the CPU usage assigned to your virtual machine - please open virtual machine configuration, General tab and move CPU to 1 if different. Please share the results.
thanks for the hint! - the linked kb article is very generic and has no useful info regarding sound lags, but I will test the cpu=1 option, I think I had set it to use both cores. Still interested in Parallels, since it is a nasty catch 22: with Parallels I have audio problems, with Fusion I get more graphics glitches... you guys should work together, maybe then I get one solution for all my remaining Windoze apps in one product ;-) cheers Martin
Does not make sense to me, but setting the CPU to 1 seems to solve the problem. Have not tested it yet with realtime audio applications, but the mega-lag and the random stuttering at least are gone! Thanks for the solution! P.S.: I understand a forum like this needs some flood protection, but 5 minutes between posts is a BIT over the top...
