I had Parallels 5 running Windows XP Pro. A few weeks ago I installed Parallels 7 TRIAL and all was fine. I just purchased the upgrade to Parallels 7 and now when going through the install process the system wants me to install a new virtual machine OR find my exising HDD. I cannot locate the existing Windows XP Pro (SP3) on my system even though I know it is there and it has worked fine with Parallels 7. Everything was registered and activated, so not sure what's happening here.

Can you advise me where to look for my existing XP HDD (file name would be helpful and where located on my Mac system) and how to go about continuing the Parallels 7 install/upgrade? It is stuck at the new or existing VM until I locate my XP HDD.

Any other tips on what to watch out for during this process would also be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    L.

    Hi.
the default location for virtual machines is ~/Documents/Paralells/
the .hdd file is in the .pvm bundle (.pvm is the file that contains your virtual machine)

If the machine isn't at default location, you can try searching for .pvm files using Spotlight.
