I currently have Parallels 5 on my OS 10.6. I have never been able to use it in spite of many hours of support and remote assistance. And installations (2 of them) of Windows 7 have become corrupted. Microsoft won't stand behind it because I purchased it at Staples.

I would upgrade to Parallels 7 but I want to know if there is any support that comes with the upgrade and I can't find out anything on the website. I can't even find an email or phone number to call to ask my questions. I don't know whether the upgrade will work for me, and if it doesn't will Parallels stand behind it (give me my money back if it won't work).

I need to talk to somebody!!

I'm going to be honest here and spare everybody a lot of headaches and time, if you couldn't get Parallels 5 to work, Parallels 7 won't magically do what you couldn't do in 5. So my suggestion is to strictly follow the 'User Guide' that comes with Parallels 5 and see if you can make it work. If you don't, no amount of support will ever be enough. Parallels 7 isn't that different from 5 in terms of getting things to work.

If you really need to have it working get someone who is more tech oriented to do it for you, someone you know, some tech service or the Genius bar in Apple Stores.

Thank you for that response. I don;t know that any other techs can help. I have had at least two of them from Parallels work on it and they should be the experts. After my last support session (I think about 3 hrs. with remote access to my computer) it seemed to be working okay, but by the end of the day it was unusable again.

I am at the point of taking it completely off the computer now, and I wish I could sell the Mac and go back to a PC, but now I have software for the Mac.

Thank you for you post. It gives me the right direction.

*shrug* All I can say is that I've used Parallels since 2008 and never lost a Virtual Machine, the information inside it, or had it corrupted.
I wish you all the best.
