    Hi all!

We recently went to parallels because we were unable to copy large files 3-4GB per file from mac terminals to the windows terminals.

Meaning, when we use external hdd's, the file is too big for FAT32 filesize of the hard disk.

When i turn on parallels, the network function of windows 7 seems to be a virtual network using different ip's and i noticed that the hard drive of the mac is a network drive.

How do i go about finding my other window's pc's on other computers on my network if i have the IP and everything is properly shared?

Thanks alot for all the help in advance!

Choose Bridge networking instead of Shared for the network adapter in Configuration>Hardware of the VM, pick the adapter you want the VM to be on, this will give the VM an ip in the same network as the host system, and not a subnetwork routed thru the Host.

    Hi Specimen,

Thank you so much for the swift response.

Under Bridged Network, there is 4 options being Default Network, Airport, vnic1 and vnic2.

Which one of these should i select?

Thank you so much for your help once again. :)

You're welcome, glad you got it working.

You only need to choose a different adapter from the default when you have an environment where you are using more than one active network connection. For instance, OSX uses wireless connection while you want windows to use the ethernet cable. Default adapter is the one that is being used at the moment in OSX for accessing the network.

I got Mac Mini on Thursday, installed Parallells demo on Friday, bought it Saturday.

You answered the only problem I had!

It's back to the Mac for me. Dropped it when Classic Mac died.

Great to use Quark, Photoshop and Quicken on the Mac desktop.
