I updated to OSX Lion a long time ago and haven't used Parallels since. I tried to open Parallels to update it manually because I have 2.5 and I'm seeing that the current Parallels Desktop version is 7, but get this message:
"You can't use this version of the application Parallels Desktop.app with this version of MacOS X." I don't know how to update Parallels when I can't even open it.

    Some facts:
    * Only PDM 5 and 6 can be upgradable to PDM 7.
    * Only PDM 6 and 7 are compatible with Lion.
    * I don't think PDM 2.5 is even compatible with Snow Leopard.

To get Parallels to work in Lion:
    * You have to acquire a full PDM 7 license (no upgrade license).
    * You should uninstall the old PDM 2.5 and but keep the old Virtual Machines (back up them first).
    * Old VMs will have to be imported into Parallels and then upgraded (this process is mostly automatic once you import the old VMs but might take a while), as there was a deep virtual disk format change from PDM 3 to 4.

Ok, how do I uninstall it when I can't open it?

I think what I want to do now is just free up the space, but I can't figure out how to uninstall it when I can't open it. Can you help me with that?
