Not a single new game in 2 months works

    Battlefield 3
    Skyrim
Rage and a few more too.

And now Saints Row the Third, none of these will even launch, no matter what video settings you use.

It's very frustrating. I'm very happy with the performance of older games but this is the greatest flood of new releases in 10 years and not a single thing I'm trying works. And hasn't worked since they launched.

Skyrim launches and works for me (2009 Mac Pro, Radeon 4870), and the performance is actually very good. However, the game seems to quit to the desktop randomly, and with no error message. I wish I knew why this was happening as it runs well enough with modest settings that I could avoid booting into Windows much of the time.

Yup Skyrim loads but crashes every 3 minutes, unplayable.

Was able to run StarWars TOR at low settings last night, with the latest Parallels patch. Will try pumping up a bit and see how that goes and will try a few others tonight.

My experiences with new games so far:

SWTOR works very well in Parallels Desktop 6. With PD7 - performance gets terrible and the rest of my system slows down tremendously (have not tried build 15052 yet, but it didn't sound like they "fixed" anything that would make a difference).

I haven't tried Skyrim yet on PD7, but in runs in PD6 with only some mouse issues (turning off bMouseAcceleration in the SkyRim ini helps some). Not a single crash yet.

Skyrim ran great for me last night, I put about 3 hours in. I dropped it to 1600 and reduced a lot of the graphics options but it still looked very cool. Will see how far I can push it next.

Do you run PD6 & PD7 on the same computer?
