Parallels still shows 8GB in the vm memory configuration after upgrade to 16GB

    I have a windows 7 64 bit vm running under parallels. I upgraded my mac from 8gb to 16gb. When I configure the memory for the VM I expected to see 16gb in the available memory slider, however, it still shows 8GB and the recommended size for the VM is 4GB. I selected 8GB anyway and it seems to work but it doesn't seem right.

    Is this normal? Am I missing something?
