    Hello,

I'm having some trouble right now - I have two problems. The first is more benign, but is probably linked to the second.

Problem 1) When I run the Windows Experience Index (WEI) assessment tool it fails after initialization. The screen flashes to black once and then an error pops up saying "cannot complete assessment. The assessment or other operation did not complete successfully. This is due to an error being reported from the operating system, driver, or other component."

Problem 2) I am trying to run the program (game) Shogun 2 Total War and the system loads the game, plays the introductory CGI movie and then the virtual machine completely crashes -- and I end up having to reboot the VM from parallels.

I am running a MacBook Pro with 2.4 Ghz core 2 duo OS 10.5.8, 8 GB total RAM ( 4GB for the VM with 1 GB video ram) and 64 Bit windows 7 Professional.

I also ran the directx diagnostics tool and this is what popped up:

Yea I tried that - uninstalled the toolset and then re-installed to no avail. Thanks for the tip though.

I tried the above mentioned steps, confirming time synchronization and clearing the stated folder. Unfortunately the problem is still present.

    Thanks for the help.
