Apple Thunderbolt Display 27" - Sleep issues in Parallels
Hi,
I'm running my virtual machine as a Boot Camp virtual machine through Parallels.
I have had my Apple Thunderbolt Display (27") for about a month or so now, and it's working perfect in all matters on the MacBook Pro 15" (2011 model) after all firmware updates are done through Apple --> Software Update (or similar, my language is Norwegian). If this is not done, it will be almost impossible to wake your screen when you wake your computer after the lid has been closed - but you can fix things by removing the thunderbolt cable and then reattach it - however, that's no fun if you have to do that once or twice a day... Software updates (especially firmware for Thunderbolt Display) fixes this...
The only problem I have is related to Parallels, I think. If I forget to close my virtual machine (Windows 7 Professional) and Parallels, and I close the lid on my MacBook Pro (to make it sleep), I will struggle when waking it, meaning the display won't start again. I also think replugging the Thunderbolt cable will not work in this situation (can check it...).
My guess is that some Thunderbolt related drivers are not plug and play either in Windows 7 - or Parallels have some work to do for making things work like it should.
I hope the Parallels team will make a nice solution for this problem, as it will really affect a lot of users.
Best regards,
Thomas from Norway
