I installed Parallels on my iMac and love it, except for the fact that I can't get the command, shift, or alt key to work in combination with a letter key while trying to operate a DOS program in Windows XP. But that aside . . . I have Windows XP installed on a MacBook Pro laptop via Boot Camp. If I installed Parallels on the the laptop, would I then be able to boot Windows XP from Parallels and also revert to booting into Windows via Boot Camp when I wanted to do that instead? In other words (if my question isn't clear), would installing Parallels interfere with running Windows via Boot Camp? And would Parallels run the same XP installation that Boot Camp uses or would I need a second installation of XP?
Parallels can use your Windows Boot Camp installation if you wish, meaning the same installation can be used in Parallels and Bootcamp and whatever you save or change via either is available to the other.
Thank you. Just wanted to be sure I could do that without disabling my ability to go into Windows via Boot Camp when I needed unflinchingly perfect Windows operation.
