I used to think that I was a switched on cookie. I am now doubting myself!

I have a new Mac. It is a thing of great beauty but I do have some Windows programmes that I need to run. I have installed the trial of Parallels and linked it to my old windows PC. All seems to be ticket boo. My issue is this (and forgive the stupidity of this question); does the Windows PC have to be switched on for me to run Parallels or now that it is loaded can I run it without the PC being on the same network etc.

    Again, apologies for being thick!

    Many thanks

When you say 'linked' I assume, this being thru Parallels, that you used Parallels to clone the contents of the PC to a Virtual Machine, if this is the case, the correct word would be migrated, and in that case, of course the PC doesn't need to be on or connected, you have a autonomous clone of it.

Beware, because you used the word linked you might expect some sort of sync between the virtual machine and this external Windows PC box, well, there isn't any, once cloned these are two autonomous machines like two different PCs.

Well thank goodness for that! Many thanks for this; wasn't expecting it to be synced at all which is good news.
    I will now buy!

    THANK YOU!
