I purchased Parallels 6 for Mac about 12 months ago.
At that time I was running Mac Snow Leopard and Windows 7 via Boot Camp.
Back then when I first installed Parallels 6 (and don't ask me how) I completely fouled up my Boot Camp partition so much so that I removed Parallels in disgust (never used it since), recreated my Boot Camp partition and reinstalled Windows 7 and have been using a standard Mac log out, log in, Windows Boot Camp partition to this day......all very easy and reliable albiet sometimes inconvenient.

Now I have upgraded the OS x to Lion and don't need to use MS Windows 7 so much now, the old log out, login in practice is becoming a little tedious now...........not to mention I have an unused boxed CD of Parallels 6 laying in the cupboard......

Now I want to reinstall Parallels 6 on my Mac but at the same time maintain the integrity of my Boot Camp Windows 7 partition with all it's historically preserved Data.

    a) Is it possible to install Parallels on the Mac and use it to read and write to my Boot Camp partition.. without endangering the integrity of the Boot Camp partition itself....???
    b) If so, is there a "step by step" installation guide to make this a fool proof simple operation ??

Thanks to anyone who can help reinstate my confidence in the use of Parallels VM on my Mac...........

    iMac 27" i5, 1Tb, 4Gb Ram.

    It's done it again

Installed and Upgraded all as per the instructions but still Parallels gives me problems.......

Now when ever I log into the Mac OSx Lion and start (click the Icon) Parallels 6 it immediately starts up a screen and initiates a 1 to 4 step configuration of "My Boot Camp" and won't allow me to terminate the this screen.
If I let the screen run it's course I am asked to Log On to Windows 7 to complete the configuration..... which I do.. and an (External Drive shaped) Icon appears on the Mac DeskTop called "My Boot Camp"........
Now I can access my "Boot Camp" partition, OK that's fine.......
However, if I now shut down Windows 7 and then Parallels 6 whilst remaining in Mac Lion the next time I start Parallels I have to go through the whole 1 to 4 step configuration screen all over again....... this happens every time I start Parallels and I can't seem to find anyway to stop it.
Surely, once configured Parallels should stay configured !!!! on every launch !!!

I may have to uninstall Parallels and start all over again ?? or am I missing something here..........
