I recently ran the Compressor on Parallels Desktop for Mac, and during the System Media Files task, I noticed that the folder C:\program files\movie maker\ in my XP SP2 VM was emptied. Can someone tell me if this is normal behavior? What else is removed during this task?
Hello sirmalloc, In express mode Compressor deletes MovieMaker files. But you can forbid this action in Advanced mode (uncheck "Clean Up System Media Files" option) If you need MovieMaker download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx For more information about Compressor read our manual (Parallels Desktop for Mac User Guide.pdf), page 193.
I have a different problem. I ran Compressor in express mode twice and it _didn't_ remove MovieMaker files. I ran Compressor to get rid of programs that don't make much sense in a VM and expected Compressor to delete MovieMaker. Where's my mistake?
Leauki, please answer my questions: 1. Where have you bought Compressor? 2. What is your primary OS? 3. What is your guest OS? 4. What version of Compressor do you have? (Workstation, Server) 5. What is build number of your Compressor? Thank you for report.
1. Came with Parallels Desktop. 2. Mac OS X 10.4.9. 3. Windows XP SP2. 4. n/a. 5. How would I find out?
