Ok, I have a valid copy of XP Pro SP2, installed Bootcamp long ago and have been happy running both OS's. I wanted to multitask a bit, so I installed Parallels rather painlessly, but when I boot up Windows via Parallels using my bootcamp partition, it asks me to activate windows, which I try and do using the same serial, but that did not work, so i tried a new serial, and that didn't work either - what am I Missing?!?!?!?

Call up M$, tell them you have a new install on the same machine. They should walk you through it all.

Is this the common procedure for using Parallels + bootcamp? I don't remember reading this in the Parallels setup guide...

As far as I have used it, yes. I have done a bunch of installs and have always had to double activate.
M$ has never given me a hard time. Just don't try explaining the set-up. Just answer "yes, it is the same computer." and "No, it is not installed on any other machines." Those are both true and accurate statements.
