I am surprised to have not found a thread on this, or perhaps in the faq.

I have 2 gigs of ram - I wonder how to best allocate ram to the win xp prop vm. I used to have just 1.5 gigs and PW advised me to not go over 520 megs - I think this has changed but don't know what the new number. A parallels tech guy said too much allocated ram will make the VM perform poorly.

    thanks,
    Jim

    Small is still beautiful

I am taking 546 mb real out of 2 gb and 2.22 gb virtual memory
    18 threads

Just updating to Omnipage pro 15
to use with HP ScanJet 4890
and it all works as it should

and it all runs freely whilst I write this on the other screen

You can allocate more memory without problems, but you mac may become lesser responsible. And if you do not have specific programs inside VM that needs a lot of memory, you do not need so much memory for you XP.
