Greetings -- I've viewed older threads suggesting that, at least in earlier versions of Parallels, the Image Tool's "Increase Size of Virtual Hard Disk" does not work as easily as it claims, and one must futz around on the Windows side to actually increase the size of one's virtual disk; see e.g. http://forum.parallels.com/thread1481.html But this is not documented anywhere in the new release, so I'd just like to confirm that these steps are still required. Thanks, Jim P.
Gowing is easy, shrinking not. Most Host OSes have ways to increase their partition sizes. It is mostly easy to do, except that in most cases you need to boot from a copy of the drive, and do the change to a non-boot version of the drive. In ReiserFS, NTFS and ext3 there are simple built-in ways (all command-line) to grow partitions. Be aware that you cannot shrink them other than using third-party tools. Regards, Marius.
