    Hi:

I upgraded to 3188 on both my Mac Mini and the MBP Core Duo that I have. All the software runs fine so far (XP, Vista), but I have an issue that I have not been able to find a solution for in the forums.

Parallels Ethernet adapter in XP for example has a MAC addressed that was set by parallels. The issue is that if I run an XP VM on the mini and on the MBP, both the adapters have the same MAC address, ergo, they both get assigned the same IP addresses from my router, so now I have an address conflict.

I know I can manually assign an IP address to get around this, but is there a way to change the mac address of the adapter itself (like the last byte or two), so the VM can get it's address automaticly and not have an IP address conflict?

The reason I am asking this is that I am in a project to get a hospital company )small rural facilities) totally paperless, and I like the idea of using Mac's instead of PC's and use parallels where I need windows specific apps to run (concerence is a neat feature). Less maintenance headaches. If I allow the VM to get an address via DHCP this issue will surface.

Sorry for the ignorance, but I did not find a solution in the manuals, and wish a simple fix to this.

    Thanks in advance.

Page 120 of the User's Guide should show you what you need to do: edit advanced network options.

    Hi Steve:

I should have looked at the setup better, that option will cure the issue, thanks again for your help.
