I am having trouble installing SQL Server Express 2005 on a Parallels VM. I download the files from Microsoft, and they are fine (I know, because I used them to install SQL Server on a Windows box), but when I try to install them on a Parallels VM the setup process says the install file is corrupt and I can't complete the install.

I have tried multiple times downloading multiple versions of these files and the results are consistent...they work fine on a Windows machine but I get "corrupt file" error messages on the Parallels VM (XP Pro).

Anyone have any suggestions on how to work around this problem?

    thanks

Are you downloading them on your mac first and copying or straight from inside XP?

Also which web browser did you use as Firefox has tendency to corrupt downloads by finishing too early.

I have SQL server express 2005 in both XP and Vista (despite warnings) and they both work. I used IE7 to download both.

Files work on Windows but not in Parallels

I downloaded the files using Firefox on a Windows machine. As I said, the files install fine on the Windows box, so what I don't understand is why a file that works fine on a real Windows machine seems to be corrupted when running on a Parallels VM.
