Hi, I'm using the last version of parallels desktop for mac and it's a great version in my opinion. I have not trouble but the first time I used the "drag and drop" function, parallels asked me if I'd like to copy files from os x to windows or directly allow virtual machine to use files located in my home folder. I picked the first but i can't find the menu to change it . Can anyone help me? Thanx a lot, M
From the Parallels menu choose Edit > Virtual Machine... to bring up the Configuration Editor pane. Inside the Configuration Editor pane select "Shared Folders" from the list on the left. The two checkboxes ("Global" and "Local" under "Enable sharing for drag-and-drop") on the bottom right control this function. Using the global drag and drop option opens up your entire Mac OS filesystem to the virtual machine, which is a security risk (understatement...). There are a number of posts on this forum about that. Check this one for an example.
Thanx a lot kosh!! I performed a search but using "drag and drop" no useful posts result. I had to use something like "global sharing". I will try to change my config as soon as possible (probably tomorrow morning)! Thanx again, M
