F8 Not Recognized; Can't Install XP

New MacBook Pro, successful install of Parallels. When I begin to install Windows XP Pro, SP2, from a non OEM, Windows disk, I get to where I must accept the license. To accept, I must hit the F8 key, but it's not being recognized-- hitting that key only calls a Mac action (toggling the keyboard illumination). What am I missing?

 

press the "fn" key, hold it down and then press F8
