Hi, I'm new to the hole mac and parallels thing and basicly just need to print from the Win XP session i set up in Parallels. The problems i'm have are: Networking - - I can connect to the win system from mac (finder-go-connect to server-) but cant connect from XP to mac..?? the mac dosn't come up in the network places and if i go into entire network i do get a "_s Computer (username)" but when i double click and try and add in user/pwd it dosn't work.. I dont get an error just flashes and goes back to the password box.?? Printing - I have succesfully added the printer to the mac, can print fine but cant add it into XP via networking.. Also have tried to just add it as a usb printer.. it installs fine etc but when i try and print the job just sits in the queue??? Not sure if anyone can help but anything is better than where i am at the moment.. Thanks Graham
Make sure that "Shared Printing" is enabled on the MAC. Go to the Apple website and download Bonjour for Windows, and install it in your virtual machine.
Thanks Purplish, I've been able to successfully add the printer and can go throught the print sequence, However the jobs just dont print, The printer sharing on the mac is enabled, and I've checked the job queue on the mac and nothing appears when i try and print. Could it be the type of printer?? I have an all in one Epson stylus CX4100?? Could it be that its a USB printer?? I have been able to connect to the virtual server from the mac and from the pc.. however i had to map a drive with an ip to be able connect to the mac from the virtual xp server. Were getting somewhere but just not there yet...anyone else have any suggestions??
OK FIXED...... I dont know WHY??? but i reinstalled the printer via bonjour but instead of using the specific printer driver i used the generic/Postscript as someone else did in another forum topic... and hay it work!! so thanks Purplish fixed because of you Cheer Mate
