Just recently with 3170, every time I close a window, any window, I get the beachball for about 5 to 10 seconds. This just started happening. It happens in coherence and OS window mode. This is XP SP2. Anybody else have this problem (and hopefully a solution)? I don't recall having this problem in 3150.

I seem to always get the problems that nobody else does since I never get any replies to my posts! In any case, I tried restarting Windows and restarting Parallels. I still had the same problem. I rebooted my MBP and now the problem is gone. Weird. I'm willing to bet it has something to do with running Rosetta apps (aka Office) alongside Parallels. The beachball means that OS X is busy with something. It could be virtual memory swaps to disk (I have 2 GB with 512 MB allocated to the VM; maybe everything else was getting used up) or something else with Office. Whatever.

I haven't experienced this with the last two or so releases, but did have the problem with at least two of the prior betas (immediately after upgrading). Rebooting my MBP fixed it the first time. The next time I simply logged out and back on and that took care of the problem.
