I have installed Parallels Desktop 6.
When I start Parallels the Welcome to Parallels Desktop comes.
But I can't install the Bootcamp partition.
Even when I close the windows and go to File - Import Bootcamp.
Is that not visible. So does someone now what to do?

Because I don't know anymore what to do!

So, I assume you have a working Windows installation with Boot Camp?

Yes my bootcamp installation works fine.
But I can't choose a option to use it.

Actually you don't want to import it then, that is something else entirely. You want to set up a New virtual mating using Boot Camp as your source.

Select file/new. I think Parallels 6 is a bit different here than version 7, but you should see a choice with something like "Use Windows from Boot Camp". Select that and then click to continue. This will set up a new virtual file that references your Boot Camp partition.

It does not duplicate everything or use a lot of space but sets things ups so that you are using the correct drivers in Boot Camp or Parallels, don't have to keep reregistering Windows every time you change how you boot, etc.

Importing is what you can do once your new Virtual Machine is set up and running perfectly, and you are sure that you NEVER will want to boot into Boot Camp again. It allows you to move everything to your virtual machine so that you can then remove your Boot Camp partition.

There is no harm in using Boot Camp and using the Virtual Machine in Parallels that points to the same Window's install. It's the best of both worlds and lets you play games full speed with 100% compatibility while also allowing you to use Windows programs along with OS X. It's nice to be able to run Windows only apps in Parallels without having to quit the Mac and reboot while still being able to play the latest games in Boot Camp.
