Why oh why oh why do I still have this error message when I click on the icon to launch XP on the OS X desktop ?? Its starting to get rediculous !! Ideas ?? Thanks !!
I used the XP installation under bootcamp - no virtual image as per earlier versions of Parallels. I have just converted the XP drive from FAT to NTFS - is this the problem ??
I got error also if I double click on desktop icon to launch XP but it works fine if I launch Parallels first and then select Windows XP from the VM list.
Dumb workaround but works for me Im running MPB core 2 duo, 2 GB RAM, parallels RC3 5170, bootcamp. From time to time, it does not boot saying Unable to Open Boot Camp Image. I saw that somtimes, just editing the VM properties, i.e. making a small change to allocated memory just make it. I do not have a clue why is that, but usually when it refuses to boot, I do that and voila. Just for the record, Im running MS SQL and a few apps that I do not like their current Mac versions i.e. Yahoo IM. Im making heavy use of MS SQL server while doing development work and everything looks great. No unexpected quits, no nothing.
Well mine still comes up with the error even after converting the drive to NTFS. So Parallels - sort it out please !! Its annoying !!
I get this sometimes too, but I find that if I just hit OK and then go to VM --> Start, it works no problem. With build 3150. Just downloading 3170 now...
