    Hello,

i use PD7 with Windows 7 and Windows XP.

My VM with XP (1 Core) use only 1.8% CPU but the Windows 7 VM (2 Cores) use 20%. Why is that. The VM does nothing. In the Taskmanager you can see the normal spike from 1-2% CPU usage.

I have the options for that W7 VM changed from 4 to 2 Cores. The CPU usage is slightly better. About 5% less then before.

I hope someone can me help.
    Greetings

Is this a new install of Windows 7? If so according to some folks at Microsoft after install Windows Vista or Windows 7 will "optimize" itself,f which can take up to a couple of hours. This takes CPU cycles which show up on the Mac side, but oddly does not show up when checked on the Windows side.

I was told to leave Windows running for a couple of hours (disable sleep) and that the CPU use would drop. This did actually lower my CPU from 22-25% to around 8-10%. Windows 7 does use more resources than XP, which used more than 3.1. As computers have become faster and more powerful I think less effort has gone into efficiency and more effort into features and "eye candy"
