I just installed Parallels 7 on the Mid 2011 version of Macbook Air 13'. My Windows 7 Professional installation was flawless and I am happy with the performance. But, there is one issue that bothers me so much.

I have used a D-Link DNS-323 NAS (Network Access Storage) as a file server for my home network. On Win 7 on Parallels 7, the connection to the NAS is terribly slow. It connects, but it takes a lot of time just to browse the files in the folder. And it is impossible to stream a video file from the NAS. My NAS is working fine from Mac OS (Lion) or any other Windows machines at my home so the NAS is not the source of problem, I guess.

I found "Reinstall Parallels Tools" in the menu and was wondering if the reinstallation of Tools helps.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hi,

as an attempt to somehow investigate the issue:

could you please try to switch to bridged networking (if you are using default SharedNetworking now) or to Shared (if you are in bridged)?

I switched to bridged networking and that did not help much. After I got back to shared networking, the connection speed to the NAS got better, but it was only little better.

I kind of solved this problem. When I enter Win 7 on Parallels 7, my NAS was already mapped something like \\psf\Volume_1. However, I manually mapped the NAS (\\my_nas\Volume_1) by using 'Map Network Drive ..' on Win 7 and I got the speed that I want back. After that I connected the mapping (\\psf\Volume_1) and I am a happy man now.

I hope this helps for other people who might have the same problem.
