P7 is great, especially with Lion support like full-screen, but there is a problem with playing Deus Ex HR.
Movement is very smooth, but there is a huge delay when any new graphics are loaded, for example just turning round.
It's like a whole load of buffering is going on.
    I've got a 3.4GHz i7 iMac 2011 with 12Gb RAM and have allocated 4Gb and 4 processors to P7.
Would increasing the RAM help here, or is it fundamentally asking too much?
    It runs perfectly on Bootcamp.

    imacken,

DXHR loads a lot of textures, many in formats that are not handled natively by OS X. This adds to graphics virtualization overhead. There's no quick solution for this game as you've already gave in enough CPU/RAM, but we hear you.

Ah.. came here to see if anyone else was experiencing this.

Good to know what the issue is. I have to say I'm immensely impressed with Parallels 7, except for small hiccups like this... I don't have to natively boot into Windows at all. :)

    Thanks for that.
The interesting thing is that once the textures are loaded for each scene (and it takes a while) the performance is good. Not a huge difference to running in Bootcamp. P7 is a huge leap forward from P6 - especially in full-screen mode.

Just tried this today in both a VM standalone and a bootcamp VM with windows 7 & xp. Both resulted in the same problem. I turned down everything and allocated similar cpu/ram as imacken. I have a Vertex3 SSD as well. So hopefully this will become playable soon! Then I will never need to use bootcamp!
