I have not yet succeeded, I think, in getting a clean install of Parallels tools under PD7. I am running a Win7 guest under OS 10.6.8 as host on an iMac8,1 with 4GB RAM. During first start of the VM, Win7 insists on installing drivers while Parallels tools runs for the first time. I've found a few random issues, especially with networking, inaccessible //psf files, and so on. I therefore attempt to reinstall Parallels tools. If I just run Autorun, I get a rather different window and the install always fails after running for nearly 20 minutes. If I open the tools disk and run setup.exe as administrator, again, the repair will run for 20 minutes or so and then fail; but I get the indication shown in the attached screenshot. Thoughts....
No one has hopped on this question yet. Many folks, myself included, have posted about buggy behavior with PD7. I've seen issues with WEI scores or Aero or networking or accessibility to //psf and so on, which sometimes cure themselves or fail again with a new install or a clean install of tools. Many of these problems could be caused by a corrupt install of tools and drivers. I think this is worth looking at.
