The latest update for Parallels Mobile for the iPad says that it adds this ability: enable you to control your Mac just like you control your virtual machine How is this done or enabled? I have the latest version and I am logged in on the desktop via the Preferences > Mobile tabe as per the setup guidance, but I only see my virtual machine, not anything that looks like it is connecting to or controlling the Mac itself.
Are you running OS X Lion on your Mac? I believe controlling your Mac via Parallels Mobile only works if both Parallels 7 and OS X Lion are used in conjunction.
I am running Lion and Parallels Desktop 6. It would be more than odd if Parallels 7 is required for this feature to work. Firstly because 7 had been out for what, 10 minutes? And also because the App Store page for Parallels Mobile says nothing at all about a requirement for Parallels 7. Any other thoughts, or is Parallels just very slack in its description and support of this app?
Yep, the description is vague. I have seen that requirement elsewhere ad have confirmed it myself. I was also running 6 and only after upgrading to 7 was I able to connect to my OS X host. It makes sense but they could be more clear.
Fair enough. I actually see the mention of this requirement now on the App Store page, hadn't noticed it before.
