I just did a clean reinstall on my Mac and I have backups of all the VMs I created before. If I double-click on the .PVS file the VMs start fine but I can't find how to add them to the Parallels selection list for when I start Parallels. At the moment, Parallels always wants me to create a new VM when it starts, which I neither want to do nor need to do.

I'm sure there is a way around this problem, I just haven't been able to find it in the help. Do I need to copy the VM folders to a certain location in the library, or do I need to edit a config file manually?

In parallels - preferences you can choose where your VM are located.
(Default folder of virtual machines)....so you can find it when you reopen Parallels next time.
