I have a problem with installing windows on my iMac with paralells. I can not find the driver for the CD/DVD when it is installing. Which means I can not go any further than to step 2 under installation of Windows on my Mac. Please help me!
Hi, Try with disconnected floppy disk. Shut down the machine you are unable to install > open Virtual Machine settings > Hardware > Floppy disk and uncheck "Connected" > Start the installation once again. If it still fails, you may convert the CD/DVD disk to .iso image and install Windows 7 from this disk image.
Windows 7 (64 bit) installation I have exactly the same problem as HenrikG. I have disconnected the FDD. I have tried to install Windows 7 (64bit) from both an .iso file and a DVD. I cannot get past the CDROM/DVD driver error message. I have tried switching the DVD drive from a SATA drive to an IDE device. No luck. I have a mid-2009 MBP 2.8Ghz Intel Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB memory - just stock from the factory. I have the latest version of Snow Leopard. My Windows 7 .iso file is fine because I have used it to install Windows 7 under a different VM. This has not been a good experience with Parallels so far.
