I have just got a new macbook and trying to move the .pvm file from my old mac but it won't copy on to any usb device, I just get an error code 0 (the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred).

Any ideas why this is happening?

The file I am trying to move is a Windows XP Virtual Server and about 12GB in size, I have done this on previous mac's without any problems. I have moved all my other files and this is the last one so need to get done asap.

Thanks in advance for your help.

may be it is a problem with the usb-stick.
but, why don't you copy the file over a network, preferably with a cable, rather than wireless.

No tried various different usb sticks, external hd, idisk and it just won't copy, whatever I try and move it to I get the same error but the pvm file is running file so it's a bit strange.

are you trying to copy the pvm-file, while parallels is running ??
shut-down the virtual machine and stop the parallels software, I would say.

how are these usb-sticks, external hard-drives formatted ??
pls remember that FAT32 cannot deal with files bigger than 4 Gb.
as I said before: use a cable :)

Ok thanks for the tip, I don't know how they are formatted, I just plug them in but they work on mac and PC.

Thanks for the tip, used a firewire 800 cable and worked perfect, thanks again for your help.
