Attempted to reinstall parallels desktop 4.0 to correct issues with coherence mode (mode was selected but would not run). Upon reinstalling, my disk image was restored to the virtual machine folder, but parallels states that no OS is found and prompts for install disk. Even worse, parallels is no longer able to start the install process as it says that boot from CD rom failed. I have >$10k in software in this disk image and it will be difficult to replace all of it, please help!

    Hi,
What exactly you reinstalled? Reinstallation of Parallels Desktop application does not affect your virtual machines. Seems that you tried to reinstall your virtual machine?

No, it is exactly as I said. Re-installation was strictly limited to Parallels Desktop.
