Hi guys, I'm running latest Parallels on MacOSX and when I am using Windows XP, browsing in IE or in FileExplorer I am very used on using the back/forward buttons on the leftside of my mouse (so not left/right buttons on top). It is not working ;-( It now brings up the start-menu and I really CANNOT find where to remap the forward/back buttons to actually DO forward/back actions in e.g. IE or Explorer. How can this be done??? if this minor thingie can be fixed, it would be GREAT... Grtz Pheno
Unfortunately, it isn't. OSX owns the mouse, and passes mouse movement, wheel movement and click, and right and left click to the emulated wheel mouse in the VM. Extra buttons are not passed to the VM.
What mouse are you using? What driver/software are you using with it? I have a Logitech bluetooth mouse (forget the model number), and I use Steermouse driver/software (http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/). The Steermouse software allows you to assign mouse buttons globally or on an app-by-app basis. It works great with Parallels....give it a try.
