Trying to install Win7 on Parallels; this is the exact same setup I had on an older computer and had zero problems. But when installing on a new iMac, Windows stops because it is looking for a driver: "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing…"

But what? I've pointed it to the real DVD drive, and pointed it to an iso disk image, but no luck, so I am thinking I am doing something wrong?

Well when I installed it in Bootcamp it then required the Apple install disks to be inserted to install drivers. After 2 erases, the 1st time I re-installed Win7 & didn't know that it & looked funny & asked for drivers but I didn't know what it was talking about. The 2nd time after the Genius bar got it ready to install Windows I walked down the hall to the Microsoft store where I had an appt for help in installing Windows. Rather than leave it for 2 days I asked if I could install it myself while sitting there & just asking for help if there were decision points where I needed help. They knew that the DVDs needed to be inserted in install the apple drivers which I hadn't done the 1st time.

I'm using bootcamp as a virtual machine in Parallels 5. At least I was before the crashes leading to the erases & next thing will be hardware replacement which I'm waiting for a call about. Then some time after that & getting things running again, I will gradually add things back in to see how it is working & hopefully before too long will be able to get Parallels back up & running.

So not sure if those drivers need to be installed after the Parallels installation but when it gives you that message you could try that. I remember the 1st time after I installed it prompted me for something that i didn't understand.
