Hello I am really a newbee in Mac world. Bought a new MacBook a week ago and also bought Windows 7 Pro, and are now evaluating Parallels since I need some Windows stuff. I really hate iTunes and want to use Winamp as I am used to. But the songs sometimes get distorted for half a second and there are sometimes glitches and spaces in songs.- not every song, it differ. it can be in a song and next time not. I'm going mad about this since this is one of my mainreason I want to run Windows. I have set the memory to 2 GB but it didn't help. Sometimes 5 songs can be played without this and then suddenly it comes again. I have 12 days left on my evaluation and would be happy to find a solution soon before spending the money. Thank You very much Peter
I think I solved the problem, haven't heard anything for an hour. If anyone are interested what I did. I turned off hardware accelaration in WinAmp. Anyone who know what hardware accelaration is good for ? It is interesting for me to know, if someone can tell. Seems to be a Parallels license at last Love the idea with two pc in one. Wait there's another thing. It's no big deal now, but I cant see any music files in Mediaplayer, I have the files stored on the mac partition, it works in WinAmp but not in mediaplayer. See the folder when browsing for mediafolders, but there are no files showing.
Well, seems I have to continue talking to myself. I was wrong the PROBLEM is still there, Can't Parallels system handle a simple musicplayer then how good is Parallels ? I guess I will never get an answer since I have seen threads here that are two years old without any reply from Parallels.
Parallels can't handle sounds I guess Parallels drivers can't handle sounds. Thats my conclusion now not getting any answer. Thanks a lot Parallels Don't bother answering, I bought VMware and it Rocks like a dream !!!
