I have a MacMini and just installed OS 10.6.3, everything went OK w/that upgrade. Then my Parallels 205 wouldn't open, so I purchased upgrade to v5 from the Parallels website. During install, the install procedure hung at the window "Please wait while the virtual machine is being upgraded" with the subtitle "searching for new devices (step 2 of 4)..." Its been hung here for 3 days now, but the window also says "This may take some time to complete. During this time do not switch off or restart your Mac." So what do I do? I don't know the build number. My mini has 2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM, and a 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo.
Did you check to see if there was a pop-up window behind the install? Check out this Knowledgebase article regarding that: http://kb.parallels.com/en/8867
no pop-up window Thanks for replying. There are no pop-ups behind the install window. I did click on a little padlock icon in the upper left-hand corner of the window, and a dialog box asked me if I wanted to switch to manual mode. I did, and now at the bottom of the window it states that Parallel Tools are not installed, do I want to install them? I clicked yes, but nothing happened. Also, there's a small window within the install window telling me Windows must be reactivated within 3 days, do I want to do that now? I clicked yes (several times) and nothing has happened to that, either.
Yes, ticket generated Yes, I received one reply last night to the ticket, but it didn't cure what the problem is now (as described above).
