immediately after ubuntu 10.10 installation, and then also after installing parallels tools, after upgrading all packages via system package manager … just after every reboot, i see this error briefly before being moved into my X-session : any others experiencing this? i did almost nothing but take the basic startup options from the beginning of the install through to the end of installation. i chose 1.5GB of memory, lowered the startup disk size to 20GB, since i really don't think i need that much …*but did all that config right at startup rather than after. what do i look up to figure out why this is happening? i grepped "modprobe" in /var/log/* to no success.
since i had little invested in the system, yet, i just tried re-installing with a slightly different order. on the re-install, i made certain to perform updates immediately, prior to installing parallels tools. with this order, the modprobe problem is not appearing at startup.
