I recently bought Parallels 6 and installed from my Windows 98 CD. When it asked for some drivers I told it to search the Windows 98 CD and it apparently found and installed what it needed. But now that Windows 98 is up and running, I am stuck in 16-Color mode, with 640x480 resolution and I have no options in the control panels for changing it. What do I do? I can't run my software in 16-Color mode. And a higher resolution would be great.
The fix for color depth and resolution in Win98 under Parallels 6 is the same as that for Win98 under Parallels 5. The directions are available here: http://kb.parallels.com/8539 . Once you install the driver, you should be able to change your system resolution and color depth. You will also need to create a batch file to get around a known issue with Parallels Video Driver under Windows 98. Those directions are available here: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?p=68655#post68655 . I hope that, if you have not succeeded in solving your video issue yet, that this will put you on your way to success. Best to you...
