It appears that the recent update to Mac OS X 10.6.6 has some sort of compatibility issue with Parallels desktop build 6.0.11992. After upgrading to OS X 10.6.6, all of my VMs that were running great before the update are now experiencing terrible performance that seems to be disk access related. I have 3 different VMs: Windows XP, Ubunu 9.10, and Ubuntu 10.10. They are all suffering in the performance area, taking many times longer to boot up than they normally would, and being extremely sluggish once they do boot all the way.

FYI, the is on a 5,3 MacBook Pro with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core2Duo, 160GB Intel X25M SSD, and 8GB of RAM.

Everything was working great before while running 10.6.5.

Have you tried repairing permissions on the Mac (via Disk Utility in your Utilities folder)? Repair permission on the Mac volume only and see of that helps. My XP SP3 VM has not been affected by the Mac OS update.
