Browsing through this forum it seems that quite a few Parallels users have problems seeing network computers. In my case I've set up a Windows 7 VM. It can see a network connection called ".psf" (Parallels Shared Folders?) and another one called "MAC_MINI". However, I don't think the Mac Mini is being seen through my router - I suspect it's being mounted as another internal shared folder. Connected to my router are two other Windows PCs (both running XP). Neither of them can be seen by my Parallels VM, even though both of them are seen by the Mac itself. Can anyone give me any tips for making this work? Or is there a handy tutorial anywhere?
Maybe I should add that I'm using Parallels 5 and I have a totally wired router (i.e. no wireless networking involved). The Mac can see my network computers and if I boot into Windows 7 (on a separate partition on the same machine) that can see my network computers too. However, Windows running under Parallels cannot see them. Should this be working?
I just went to the Parallels support site and searched their knowledgebase for "networking", "network" and "network computers". No hits were found for any of my searches. Should I take it that networking with external PCs is not currently supported by Parallels?
