Hi Guys and guyesses, I know you all must get fed up of seeing titles to threads like mine but I didn't know what else to put. Reading some of the stickies around the forum tells me that it is a good plan to tell you what system I am using before going into details of the problem. I am using a new Mac Mini Aluminium with Snow Leopard (inc all updates) running at 2.4 ghz with 2 gb of RAM via a 52" plasma screen with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Attached to one of the USB 2.0 ports is a blank, 500gb external hard drive. OK, that's what i have and it all works smoothly. What I want to do is install Parallels so that I can then install Windows XP Pro (SP3) which, in turn, will allow me to install Nuance's Dragon Naturally Speaking for Windows. That, and AV software, are the only programmes that will be run on the Windows side of my computer and I would like to keep all the Windows stuff on the external hard drive. The easiest solution would be to get a Mac version of the Nuance prog but there isn't one (that I have been able to source) that works on these Macs with this OS. Is this possible or would it be simpler to just buy a Windows laptop and use that for Voice Recognition stuff? The bad bit is that doing that cuts out the PC and Internet browser voice navigation on the Mac which is about 50% of the reason that I need to get the VR software up and running. Cheers for any info, Steve
Nuance With the introduction of Apple Boot Camp for Intel-based Macs it may be possible to install and then run a Nuance product after booting into Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. However, this is untested and not supported at this time. Installing or running on an Intel-based system using Mac OS X with a Windows emulator is also not supported. So Dragon will not run on a Mac with Parallels. I found out myself.
