Starting up my Mac, also parallels, and then windows7 (+ win KIS bootscan), startup automatically..
My Virtual Machine configuration settings: Options/Startup and shutdown/Start automatically/NEVER
Mac startup in System preferences/accounts/logons dont show anything related to Parallels or Windows.
Why does parallels cq windows still startup? How to make windows NOT automatically startup?
    Any ideas please?

What version of Parallels Desktop are you using? Does console.app show anything related to what might be causing Parallels to startup?

How many accounts do you have? Did you check all of them?

Maybe something is opening your virtual machine file automatically. That will cause Parallels to start, then Parallels starts the virtual machine.

I have Parallels Destop 6 for Mac. Console.app doesnt show anything.
In console; before Parallels lines, just things about network (kernel, config), nothing strange to me.
I have just one account; me (the administrator).
And the Windows startup happened already from the beginning after installation, thus without having installed any other windows-apps.
The only strange thing i see right now, while observing the realtime log, having the Windows (VM) running; every 10 seconds these three messages: "prl_tg driver is not loaded", "Exited with exit code: 255", "Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds".
Can this have to do with it?
Im not a Mac specialist, so maybe a silly question, but would removing parallels-related files from Library/LaunchAgents or Library/LaunchDaemons do any harm? ;) And theres nothing related to the VM applications, just the Mac, besides Parallels.

I don't think removing them would do any harm. You could just move them out, then move them back in if something goes wrong or nothing changes.

Well, i moved the files to a temporary folder, restarted the system, but after startup Parallels still seems kind of starting up, but as it was bouncing in the dock untill a message poped up saying: "Unable to connect to Parallels Service. Make sure that the prl_disp_service process is active and it is not blocked by Firewall". Then clicking the app-icon resulted in the same popup. So then i moved the files back as if nothing has happend and restarted, but you know what? The same popup message...oh oh.

This is interesting; after uninstalling Parallels and rebooting, Kasperski Anti-Virus message saying it cant start because Windows is not starting. But i remember KAV came with parallels, even before Windows was installed, so asuming it is/was a Mac AV, as i had initially no windows yet. But then again; in mac applications no KAV to be found. Now i installed KIS later, but no message of some (conflict) kind KAV is allready installed.. Well anyway; at least i have an idea now where the problem had to be found, and to look for next time :)

And i now actually found the Kasperski AV files on my mac, hidden in the library/.. Still strange, that its installed in my Mac, but ment for Windows, as i also cant run it as an aplication for mac. Well, whatever. Ill trash it, and dont install it again upon asking at Parallels installation.

If you see the Kaspersky Anti-Virus message saying it cant start because Windows is not starting error message again, then can you post a screen shot of it?

Parallels has two versions of Kaspersky antivirus software. One for Mac and one for Windows. Read the "Setting Up Virus Protection" in the Parallels Desktop Help menu. I've never used either. If Kaspersky for Mac is installed, then Parallels Desktop should have an Uninstall menu option in the File menu.

I dont remember what version i installed (and i didnt read the help-menu..), except that at booting my Mac, also both Parallels and Kaspersky AV were bouncing in the dock, looking to me the AV was for Mac, since Windows was not running, and besides; on Windows was Kasp.internetsecurity installed, not AV. An uninstall option for AV have i been looking for, but nowhere to find, neither the application itself actually.
At the moment things are fine. I uninstalled Parallels from the installation file, removing the applications related (such as KAV i guess), then reinstalled Parallels and now my Mac start up normally. Parallels i can start from the menu, and selecting my Windows (great the VM stayed intact). Kasp.Internetsecurity on Windows cause no problems, it only starts up when Windows does, as it should. I happen to to have a screenshot of the popup, ill enclose.

Robbert, I had the same issue and with help from a technician resolved the issue this way: Go to system preferences, then accounts, and then "logins" at the top. Uncheck everything in the dialog box, especially HP folders. If that works, try adding back some checks to find the one that is causing the problem--leave it unchecked. I had to leave three unchecked--your system may be different than mine. My computer is now starting up to the mac side and only starts up in parallels/windows/other as directed by me. Good luck.

I'm suffering from the same issue. Parallels will start Windows7 on Mac startup, although "Start automatically" is set to NEVER. This happens on all Builds of v.6 I had. Now I'm running Build 6.0.11992 - the issue is still there.

Please, please, please, help me disable autoloading of parallels (or at least auto starting of windows) on Mac!!!

Auto Start of // and Windows 7

Paul, there wasn't anything for //or Windows in my log-in box either, only HP, so uncheck HP or anything else to see if the problem goes away--add back anything that doesn't cause the problem. Good luck. P.S. I have Best Buy geek squad also talking to // about the issue.

JHG, thank you for your reply!

In my log-in box there was only the iTunes helper checked. I've unchecked it so that nothing was checked at all. Unfortunately this did not help. Parallels still loads on start up and begins directly with starting the windows session.

There is also another issue that might be connected to this one. Skype for windows also loads on windows startup, although it is explicitly set up not to load when windows starts.

Waiting for feedback from Parallesl support team.
Why won't you say something here?

I'm afraid I don't have any more suggestions, BUT, just to make sure, do you have other accounts? If so, try checking those. In the mean time I will check with my technician on other possible solutions. Good luck. JHG
