    Hi:
I have a macBook pro. and running parallels 6. and using win 7 and xp sp3
I have tried to do all the necessary steps to install tools. That is the white papers, etc.
    Went to regedit, etc..
    Nobody mentions this situation.
    Nothin seems to work.
The parallels menu on clone is grayed out.
on the parallels window on the rt. lower bar it says that parallels tools are installed.
The two attachments are what I am referring to.
So, how do I use the tools ????

I'm pretty sure you need to click on the Virtual Machine tab up there in order for you to choose to install and/or reinstall Parallels Tools. It usually happens automatically at the time of installing your VM, at least it has for me over and over again.

    Hello, halharold!

According to your screenshots attached - tools are already installed in your VM.
Most probably you have installed Windows in Express installation mode - so operating system and Parallels Tools were installed automatically, with no interaction needed.

To get more info about tools and how to use features they provide use Help->Parallels Tools Overview

As for grayed clone button - we could not clone running VMs atm.
For more info use Help -> Cloning a Virtual Machine.
