I've read the fine manual, searched the forums, and can't find a way to make this work. I have Debian Sarge installed and working in 800x600 I have 1440x900 set as a custom resolution in the VM I editted XFree86-4 to add the modeline and screen resolutions as suggested in the documentation. Suggestions?
Linux will try the first resolution listed in the default color depth. If your applicable screen section says Code: "800x600" "1440x900" you will always get 800x600. Swap the two, and 1440x900 should work. I have not been able to switch resolution on the fly with Ctrl+Alt++/- yet.
