Why is prl_disp_service making network requests when Parallels is not running?

Since upgrading to 5, Little Snitch has been catching prl_disp_service attempting to connect to a couple different URLs at boot. This morning, it's trying to connect to ne1.wpc.edgecastcdn.net. If I don't run Parallels, it will continue to make re-attempts about every hour.

Tech Support had me repair permissions and such to no avail.

What I want to know is why is a Parallels service running when Parallels is not? And why is it wanting to connect to this URL?

Can someone from parallels please post an update regarding this? This is getting to be an increasingly significant concern. It is worrisome when programs that are not launched send network requests.

Others have reported regarding this, but there has no response..

Everytime I login and/or otherwise randomnly when I am logged in, prl_disp_service attempts to connect to different URLs (ne1.wpc.edgecastcdn.net) even though parallels is not running. Obviously there is something that parallels has installed and gets triggered during login and/or randomnly. Pls advise.
